King’s Daughters is making it easier for patients to keep track of physician appointments by giving them the option to receive appointment reminders via text messaging. The medical center has introduced the reminder system to patients of more than 50 physician practices affiliated with KDMC.
Patients can choose to receive appointment reminders by phone or by text. To opt in to texting system, existing patients can text 992793 to 99140. Sign-up is also available on kdmc.com.
“Giving patients more options and better, more convenient access to their healthcare is something we strive for every day,” said Jane Blankenship, Patient Access director. “Our patients have busy schedules, and this new option can make remembering appointments easier.”
Reminder calls and texts arrive two days before a scheduled appointment and allow a patient to confirm or cancel. Reminder calls and texts will be sent to patients between 6 and 8 p.m. only — hours that many indicate are most convenient for them to respond.
