Patient and Family Advisory Council
The Patient and Family Advisory Council gives the community a voice – a place to provide feedback about current healthcare experiences, share new ideas, and assist leadership in decision making. The PFAC is a mechanism for people to have representation in the healthcare setting.
This voluntary group meets every other month, in person or via WebEx, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
Some of the projects in which the PFAC has provided feedback and guidance include:
- Evaluation and selection of new wheelchairs for the facility
- Evaluation and selection of Emergency Department furniture
- Review and advisement regarding uniforms for Security personnel
- Review and feedback on educational materials for patients receiving palliative care
- Feedback on educational materials for patients utilizing the Center for Healthy Living
- Recommendations and advocacy for medical bill consolidation
