Understanding Your Bill
Our Patient Billing Office assists patients, insurance companies, physicians' offices and hospital departments by managing patient accounts for King’s Daughters and its subsidiaries, including:
- King’s Daughters Medical Center Ashland
- King's Daughters Medical Center Ohio
- King’s Daughters Home Health
- King’s Daughters Home Medical Equipment
- King’s Daughters Family Care Centers
- King’s Daughters Integrated Practices
- King’s Daughters Occupational Medicine
One of the most important things the Patient Billing Team does for patients is submit claims to your insurance company(s) for you. To do this as efficiently as possible, our Team asks that you provide us with the necessary information that will assist in filing your claim:
- Your current address
- Your current telephone number
- Copies of your insurance card(s)
- A photo ID, such as a drivers license
- Your Social Security number
- Your date of birth
If your insurance(s) requires pre-certification/pre-authorization, please be sure to let us know when you register. Many insurance companies will not pay, or will greatly reduce payment for, procedures that are not pre-certified/authorized.
Payment for costs not covered by your insurance plan will be billed to you after the insurance company has paid its share.
Please be aware that in addition to your bill for hospital services, you may receive bills for professional services from physicians involved in your care. This may include bills from radiologists, pathologists, emergency room physicians, anesthesiologists, etc.
Deductibles and Co-Pays
We are required by most insurance companies to collect deductibles and co-payments up front – when services are provided. If you have any questions about what your plan requires or your financial obligation under your insurance plan, please check with your employer or insurance company.
Patient billing is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. You can contact our team by calling (606) 408-4446 or toll free at 1-877-420-3555.
