Patient Rights & Responsibilities
Patients have rights – and responsibilities – when it comes to healthcare. At King’s Daughters, we are sensitive to all patient needs, including cultural, psychosocial, racial, linguistic, age, gender, religious, spiritual and the needs of the disabled patient.
Patients are provided impartial access to treatment and accommodations that are available and/or medically indicated regardless of race, creed, gender, age sexual orientation, national origin, availability of transportation or sources of payment for care.
We value each patient and offer considerate, respectful care at all times and under all circumstances, with an emphasis on personal dignity.

Compliance & Integrity Department
King’s Daughters Medical Center (“KDMC”) has developed a Corporate Compliance Program to ensure that it conducts its operations and provides services in a manner consistent with its mission, charitable purposes and in compliance with all Federal and State laws and regulations.
It is the responsibility of every employee and member of the professional staff of KDMC to ensure they conduct themselves in a manner consistent with KDMC’s Code of Conduct and other KDMC and Corporate Compliance policies.
KDMC takes issues regarding fraud, waste and abuse seriously. It is important that all employees and individuals associated with KDMC (1) comply with the standards contained in the Code of Conduct; (2) immediately report any suspected violations; and (3) assist, as needed, in investigating allegations of wrongdoing. While there will be no retaliation allowed on those who raise issues, failure to observe the provisions of the Compliance Program and associated policies and procedures of KDMC can result in serious consequences to both the employee and KDMC in the form of termination, criminal charges and substantial monetary fines.

Deficit Reduction Act Of 2005
As a participant in the Medicaid Program, King’s Daughters Medical Center (KDMC) is obligated to comply with the terms and requirements of the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005 (DRA). In accordance with the DRA, we have written policies and procedures for all KDMC employees that provide detailed information about the Federal False Claims Act, relevant state laws, the whistleblower protections under such laws, and KDMC’s policies for detecting and preventing fraud, waste and abuse.
The DRA also requires that KDMC provides this information to all contractors and vendors for your review and that you agree to abide by the high ethical standards KDMC upholds in the work that you do for us.
