Graduate Medical Education
University of Kentucky King’s Daughters (UKKD) is a not-for-profit,
locally managed 455-bed hospital nestled in the beautiful Appalachian
region of northeastern Kentucky. It's located in a tri-state area, with
Ohio to the north and West Virginia to the east. In 2025,
University of Kentucky Graduate Medical Education launched advanced training programs in Ashland to address physician shortages
in the region and expand access to medical education.
At UKKD, our residency program provides medical care to the tri-state community. UKKD offers a competitive residency program, which gives residents an opportunity to see a diverse patient population. UKKD is committed to conducting our residency program in compliance with the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) common program requirements.
