Neonatologist joins King's Daughters staff

King’s Daughters is pleased to welcome neonatologist Courtney De Jesso, M.D., to its medical staff.
De Jesso earned her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C., and completed internship and residency in pediatrics at Naval Medical Center, San Diego, Calif. De Jesso completed a neonatal-perinatal fellowship at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C.
She is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.
During her time in the military, De Jesso earned the Naval and Marine Corps Achievement Medal for consistent superior performance and the Laura Meade Clapper Public Health Award. She also served as the chief of pediatric residents at San Diego, with administrative responsibility for 23 pediatric residents and other rotating interns.
At Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, De Jesso was medical director of the nursery and the inpatient pediatric ward.
Neonatologists are physicians who specialize in the care and treatment of newborns, especially those born prematurely or with medical conditions. De Jesso joins neonatologist Ramon Ymalay, M.D., in providing care to at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.
