King’s Daughters orthopedic surgeon Sinan Ozgur, M.D. works primarily on pathologies of the upper extremity including total and reverse arthroplasty of the shoulder.
Prior to his fellowship shoulder and elbow fellowship in San Francisco, Dr. Ozgur earned his medical degree at the University of Vermont College of Medicine in Burlington, Vt. and completed orthopedic residency at Joan C. Edwards Marshall University School of Medicine in Huntington.
“I enjoy living in Ashland-Huntington area,” he said. “I was overjoyed to come back and practice here.”
During residency, Dr. Ozgur trained with orthopedic surgeon Steven Novotny, M.D., who specializes in hand disorders. A fellowship-trained shoulder and elbow surgeon, Dr. Ozgur works primarily on pathologies of the upper extremity including total and reverse arthroplasty of the shoulder.
“Helping others regain shoulder and elbow function is what I do best,” he said. “You don't realize how much you need something until you lose it. Seeing patients get back to activities they were doing prior to injuries is rewarding.”
From children to adults, he treats all ages and a variety of injuries:
- Trigger fingers
- Carpal Tunnel
- Rotator cuff repair
- Shoulder replacements
Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, he developed a passion for hard work while shadowing his father, who built homes. His summer jobs mostly involved construction work.
“Early in my childhood, I realized I worked well with my hands,” he said. “I think becoming a surgeon was a natural fit for me.”
“I know the orthopedic program at King’s Daughters is high-quality and I am looking forward to working among the best.”
Dr. Ozgur joins orthopedic surgeons Steven Carawan, M.D., Michael Chambers, M.D., Felix Cheung, M.D., Charles Giangara, M.D., Gerry Trinidad, M.D., sports medicine physician Andy Gilliland, M.D., physician assistant Jeremy Kaltenbach, nurse practitioner Tiffany Curnutte and Matthew Ellsworth, DPM.
