Those choices may have been made five, 10 or even 20 years ago, so it’s important to protect your skin from the sun and UV rays now, avoid unnecessary exposure to UV radiation and have regular skin cancer screenings.
General Surgeon Adam Martin, M.D., will be performing free skin cancer screenings from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, July 19 at King’s Daughters Medical Center Ohio, 2001 Scioto Trail, Portsmouth.
The screening consists of an exam of the affected area(s) as identified by the participant and recommendations for follow up. Skin cancer warning signs include:
- Asymmetrical (irregular) shape
- Uneven or irregular borders
- Unusual or multi color
- Size larger than a pea
- Continuing growth or recent change
Appointments are required and may be made by calling 1-888-377-KDMC.
