KDMC offers childbirth class Jan. 17

King's Daughters will offer a one-day childbirth class from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, in the medical center’s Health Education Center (lower level of the Lexington Avenue parking garage).
The fee to participate is $25. Registration is required by calling (606) 408-2244. Class dates may be subject to change. Participants should bring two pillows to the class to practice relaxation and breathing techniques. Please come 10 to 15 minutes before class starts to register.
Topics will include:
- Anatomy and physiology
- Stages of labor
- Comfort measures, relaxation, breathing techniques and pushing
- Fetal monitors
- C-section
- Anesthesia/analgesia
- Postpartum recovery
- Infant care
- Hospital tour
