Fit for the Cure event scheduled for April 16

Susan G. Komen Lexington will host a Fit for The Cure event at the Belk store at Ashland Town Center mall from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 16.

Fit for the Cure stages bra fitting events in more than 1,200 store locations in the U.S. every year. While no purchase is necessary, Wacoal donates $2 to Susan G. Komen for every woman who participates in a fitting. Wacoal also donates $2 for every bra and shape wear piece purchased. Donations will continue to support breast cancer awareness, treatment and research. Experts will be on hand for the fitting.

Locally, King’s Daughters has received more than $200,000 in Susan G. Komen funds over the years for mobile mammography services and to assist local women with mammogram screenings and other diagnostic tests.

King’s Daughters volunteers will help sign people in for the event and provide information to customers about Susan G. Komen.
