Clark's Pump-N-Shop donation supports AED program
King’s Daughters Health Foundation recently received a very generous donation from Rick Clark and Clark’s Pump-N-Shop in support of the Foundation’s AEDs in Our Communities program.
“We are incredibly grateful to Mr. Clark and Clark’s Pump-N-Shop for their support of this important program,” said Laura Patrick, Health Foundation director. The $25,000 donation, along with funds raised through the sale of Heart Month T-shirts, will make it possible for the Foundation and King’s Daughters Auxiliary to donate more of these life-saving devices to our communities.
AEDs work by analyzing abnormal heart rhythms and, if appropriate, delivering a shock to restore a normal heartbeat. AEDs are used to treat sudden cardiac arrest, which occurs when the heart stops beating regularly.
Now in its seventh year, the program has provided 166 AEDs to police, fire and rescue services, community organizations, and churches throughout King’s Daughters service area. Applications for the 2025 donation program are closed and recipients will be announced in March.
In addition to donating AEDs, the program helps organizations with the purchase of batteries, replacement pads, and cabinets. King’s Daughters CPR Training Center personnel provide training and perform maintenance checks for the existing AEDs.
Since 1983, King’s Daughters Health Foundation has helped to support the mission and vision of UK King's Daughters. Making screening mammograms more accessible
The Health Foundation provides philanthropic support to UK King's Daughters (UK KD) by addressing and supporting the growing healthcare needs of the communities we serve. The Foundation works diligently to support UK KD and their uninsured and/or underinsured population. Donations are used to increase screening mammography rates and provide diagnostic financial assistance so that breast cancer can be caught early and treated. In fiscal year 2024, the Health Foundation, in partnership with the Auxiliary, financially supported 233 patients who might not otherwise have been screened or treated.
UK King's Daughters treats and screens patients from more than 11 counties in KY, OH and WV. averaging 21,000 mammograms in fiscal year 2024.
